Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is reportedly being considered as the next permanent manager of RB Leipzig.
Following the departure of Marco Rose over the weekend, claims from Germany emerged that Leipzig had reached out to Glasner’s camp.
According to Salzburger Nachrichten, sources close to Glasner have stated that he is hesitant to leave English football for Leipzig at this time. Glasner reportedly values the “great deal of freedom” he has at Crystal Palace and is unsure if he would have similar authority at Leipzig, given the influence of Jürgen Klopp and other key decision-makers within the Red Bull group.
Glasner would only consider a move if Leipzig offers him more power in decision-making. If he agrees to the move, negotiations between Leipzig and Crystal Palace would be necessary, as Glasner’s contract with the Eagles runs until 2026, and compensation would be required for his departure.
