Premier League Round-Up: Palace Stun Brighton, Wolves Rally, Arsenal Slip
Crystal Palace held firm with nine men to deal a major blow to Brighton’s European hopes in a fiery 2-1 win. Jean-Philippe Mateta opened the scoring early, with Danny Welbeck equalising before Daniel Muñoz restored Palace’s lead just after halftime. The match saw three red cards—all for second bookings—as Eddie Nketiah and Marc Guehi were dismissed for Palace, and Jan Paul van Hecke saw red late for Brighton during over 12 minutes of added time.
Elsewhere, Wolves edged Ipswich 2-1, pushing them closer to relegation. Liam Delap gave Ipswich the lead, but Pablo Sarabia equalised and Jorgen Strand Larsen netted the winner with six minutes remaining.
At Goodison Park, Everton held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw, aiding Liverpool’s title charge. Leandro Trossard scored for the Gunners, but Iliman Ndiaye converted a penalty early in the second half to level the game.
Brighton remain in eighth, just above Bournemouth, who shared a 2-2 draw with West Ham. Evanilson scored twice for the Cherries, including a late equaliser after goals from Niklas Fullkrug and Jarrod Bowen turned the game briefly in West Ham’s favour.
