With a record of 47-22-8 and 102 points, the Golden Knights hold a five-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific Division and trail the Winnipeg Jets by six points in the race for the President’s Trophy. Vegas recently edged Vancouver 3-2, improving to 8-2-0 in their last 10 games. Coach Bruce Cassidy emphasized focusing on playing the right way, praising the team’s control of the rush and overall performance.

The Avalanche (47-27-4, 98 points) look to bounce back at home after a 5-4 loss to the surging St. Louis Blues. Despite rallying from a 4-0 deficit, the Avs fell short. Still, they remain third in the Central Division, with a game in hand on Dallas and a five-point cushion over the Blues.
Coach Jared Bednar noted a slow start from the top players but commended the bottom six forwards for their effort and contributions. MacKenzie Blackwood took the loss in goal, bringing his season totals to 22-10-3 with a .916 save percentage.
Nathan MacKinnon continues to shine with 32 goals and 83 assists. His 115 points lead the NHL scoring race, putting him in prime position to capture his first Art Ross Trophy.
