Brighton move ‘unlikely’ – Interest in another Seagulls player, president approves.

On Thursday, reports from Brazil suggested that Flamengo were interested in Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso. Additionally, FC Porto was said to be in advanced talks to sign the 21-year-old, who is currently on loan at Ipswich Town.

However, just a day later, O Jogo dismissed Porto’s interest in the Brighton midfielder for the summer transfer window.

Bolavip Brasil now reports that Enciso’s move to Flamengo is “unlikely,” although they do not provide further details to explain this conclusion. They also mention claims from journalists Gabriel Reis (known as Paparazzo RN) and Bruno Castanha, who state that Flamengo has shifted focus to another Brighton player.

Reis and Castanha report that Flamengo is now targeting Facundo Buonanotte, Enciso’s teammate at Brighton. Buonanotte, who spent last season on loan at Leicester City, where he scored five goals and provided three assists in 31 appearances, is now seen as a potential signing.

Flamengo is seeking a young attacking midfielder, and the 20-year-old Argentine could be a strong candidate. Their president, Luiz Eduardo Baptista (Baz), has given director José Boto the green light to pursue Buonanotte’s transfer. However, it remains unclear whether Brighton or Buonanotte himself would be in favor of the move, even if it were a loan deal.
