Supercomputer predicts Ipswich Town to finish with 26 points.

Opta’s supercomputer forecasts Ipswich Town will earn six more points by season’s end.

Ipswich Town faces a likely immediate return to the Championship following their 2-1 home defeat to Wolves last weekend. The loss leaves Kieran McKenna’s side 12 points adrift of safety, effectively 13 points behind due to goal difference, with just 21 points left to play for.

Next up, Ipswich travels to Chelsea on Sunday (2pm ko), followed by matches against Arsenal (H), Newcastle (A), Everton (A), Brentford (H), Leicester (A), and West Ham (H).

Having earned 20 points from 31 games so far (0.6 points per game), Opta’s supercomputer predicts Ipswich will slightly improve, picking up six points from their final seven matches (0.9 points per game). This would bring their total to 26 points.

The lowest points total in the club’s history is 25, set in the 1963/64 season when they finished bottom of the top-flight table. However, that was a 22-team league.

Ipswich is predicted to finish in 18th place, 15 points behind Wolves, three points ahead of Leicester, and 11 points clear of already-relegated Southampton.
