The Miami Dolphins are actively scouting tight end prospects as they gear up for the 2025 NFL Draft. Holding the 13th overall pick, they might be out of reach for top-rated tight end Tyler Warren from Penn State, but they appear to be eyeing players who could be available in the second round. Among the notable prospects under their radar is Mason Taylor from LSU, who recently visited the team’s facility. Taylor, the son of Dolphins legend Jason Taylor, is a projected late first-round or early second-round talent—a range that tends to vary widely for tight ends. Prior to his Miami visit, Taylor had also met with the Browns, Seahawks, and Chargers, indicating strong league-wide interest.
The Dolphins also recently hosted Elijah Arroyo, a local standout from the University of Miami. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Arroyo impressed scouts during a breakout season with the Hurricanes and carried that momentum into a strong showing at the Senior Bowl. His recent schedule has been packed with visits—following his stop in Miami on Monday, he met with the Browns on Tuesday and the Giants on Wednesday. CBS Sports’ Mike Cugno noted that both Arroyo and his teammate Xavier Restrepo have been seen frequently at the Dolphins’ facility in recent days, suggesting serious consideration from the team.
Last season, veteran tight end Jonnu Smith played a surprising role in the Dolphins’ offense, even rivaling Tyreek Hill in receptions. However, with Smith’s contract set to expire after the upcoming season, Miami could be looking at Taylor or Arroyo as possible TE2 options—or even the team’s future starter at the position.
Beyond Miami’s tight end interests, several other notable draft visits have been reported recently. Running back Kaleb Johnson, a consensus All-American and widely regarded as the third-best back in the 2025 class, has been making his rounds. After visiting the Steelers last weekend, he also met with the Titans, Broncos, Texans, and Bengals, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2. Johnson, who sits just behind Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty and UNC’s Omarion Hampton in draft rankings, could be taken as early as the second round depending on team needs and fit.
Meanwhile, Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon has also been busy ahead of the draft. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported that Harmon recently visited the Jets. While he hasn’t been commonly projected as a top-10 pick, he could be a strong candidate for a late-first or early-second round selection—especially if New York decides to trade back. Harmon has also held meetings with the Browns and Steelers, underscoring his rising stock in draft discussions.
