Brighton’s manager responded to fans booing at full-time after the team’s underwhelming performance against Leicester in their Premier League match.
Brighton were held to a frustrating 2-2 draw at home against a struggling Leicester City side. Joao Pedro opened the scoring with a penalty in the 31st minute, but Brighton’s lead was short-lived. Just seven minutes later, Mavididi’s shot slipped past Bart Verbruggen, leveling the game.
Albion regained the lead in the 55th minute, yet failed to maintain their composure in the latter stages. Leicester struck again, with Okoli netting the equalizer to make it 2-2.
Despite dominating early on and creating numerous chances, Brighton lacked sharpness in front of goal, allowing their opponents to claw back twice.
At full-time, fans voiced their frustration by booing. In the post-match press conference, manager Fabian Hurzeler was asked about the reaction. He responded:
“The fans, they decide to boo, it’s their decision. They have the right to boo whenever they want. It wasn’t our best performance, especially in the second half—we didn’t give them what they deserved.”
Looking ahead, Hurzeler emphasized the need for improvement: “I want to see a reaction starting Monday, to prepare the best way we can for Brentford next Saturday. That’s what we owe our fans.”
