Everton are monitoring Leicester City left-back Victor Kristiansen ahead of the transfer window, following the Foxes’ relegation to the Championship, according to a new report.
Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League was confirmed after a narrow 1-0 defeat to title-chasing Liverpool at the King Power Stadium. With the drop now official, the club is expected to undergo major changes this summer, and manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s future remains uncertain after a disappointing run of form.
A number of players could be on the move, and one of the likeliest departures is left-back Victor Kristiansen. The Danish international is reportedly attracting interest from Everton, who are said to be monitoring his situation closely. Kristiansen is unlikely to remain in the Championship, making a move to the Merseyside club a real possibility.
Under David Moyes, Everton have enjoyed a turnaround in form since his return in January, comfortably avoiding relegation. In contrast, Leicester have struggled defensively, conceding 73 goals this season — the second-worst record in the division. Despite this, Kristiansen has stood out with solid individual performances, catching the eye of the Toffees.
According to TEAMtalk, Moyes is a fan of the 22-year-old, and Everton see him as a valuable addition to bolster their options at left-back. With Vitaliy Mykolenko the only natural left-sided full-back currently in the squad, adding depth in that position is a priority.
Kristiansen joined Leicester in January 2023 from FC Copenhagen for £17 million — a record fee for a player from the Danish Superliga. He brought with him Champions League and Europa Conference League experience and helped Copenhagen win consecutive league titles. Although his first half-season couldn’t prevent Leicester’s relegation, he spent the following year on loan at Bologna, playing a key role in their historic European qualification campaign.
Back at Leicester this season, Kristiansen has made 28 appearances and has been their regular starter at left-back. Despite Leicester’s struggles, he has been praised for his professionalism and work ethic. However, with his contract running until 2028, any permanent transfer would likely require a substantial fee.
It appears increasingly likely that Kristiansen will move on again this summer, and Everton could be first in line to secure his signature — either on loan or in a permanent deal.
