Kelvin Banks Jr., Jahdae Barron, and Matthew Golden were selected in the first round last night. Who’s next for the Longhorns?
The second day of the 2025 NFL Draft is here, and three Longhorns have already seen their dreams come true, hearing their names called in the first round.
Offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., defensive back Jahdae Barron, and wide receiver Matthew Golden were all selected in the first round. As the second and third rounds approach, more Longhorns could soon follow.
Each of these rounds will feature 32 picks, with each NFL team selecting once per round. That means 64 potential spots for former Texas players to be drafted.
Alfred Collins (DT)
Defensive tackle Alfred Collins had a standout season for the Longhorns. He recorded 55 tackles (27 solo), six pass deflections, one sack, and one forced fumble, making him a prime candidate for the draft.
Cameron Williams (OT)
Although Cameron Williams played alongside the dominant Kelvin Banks Jr., who was drafted 9th overall, Williams has a high ceiling and is expected to be a strong prospect at the next level.
Isaiah Bond (WR)
Wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who transferred from Alabama to Texas, is ready for the NFL. He posted 34 receptions for 540 yards and five touchdowns last season and is ranked as the 13th best wide receiver in this draft class.
Andrew Mukuba (S)
Safety Andrew Mukuba, who transferred from Clemson, had a solid season with the Longhorns. He recorded 69 tackles, six pass deflections, five interceptions, and one forced fumble, making him a solid draft pick despite being overshadowed by Barron.
Gunnar Helm (TE)
Tight end Gunnar Helm, who gained more recognition in his senior season, was a key target for quarterback Quinn Ewers. He posted 60 receptions for 786 yards and seven touchdowns, making him a sought-after prospect.
Quinn Ewers (QB)
Quarterback Quinn Ewers, despite facing some doubts due to injuries and inconsistent performances, has been a starter for three years at Texas. As the third round progresses, Ewers could still hear his name called.
