The Giants made just one selection Friday night, drafting Toledo defensive tackle Darius Alexander at No. 65 overall. After a strong first round that saw them land edge rusher Abdul Carter and quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Giants still have work to do on Day 3. With four picks remaining, filling holes at offensive guard and wide receiver will be key — and there’s no shortage of intriguing prospects still on the board.
Hawthorn has made three changes ahead of its first Marvel Stadium appearance of the season, with Henry Hustwaite, Bailey Macdonald, and Jack Ginnivan all earning recalls. Hustwaite steps into the side after a standout start in the VFL, averaging over 34 disposals, while Macdonald brings fresh energy off half-back. Ginnivan also returns following a dominant Easter Sunday performance for Box Hill. The trio replaces Conor Nash, who is suspended, alongside the managed Luke Breust and omitted Changkuoth Jiath.
Lee Hendrie believes that now is the ideal time for Dejphon Chansiri to sell his stake in Sheffield Wednesday, as the club’s potential is being held back by financial struggles and strained fan relations. With Anas Sefrioui, a Moroccan billionaire, reportedly interested in taking over the Championship club, Hendrie sees this as a chance for fresh investment and new ideas. Speaking exclusively to *Football League World*, Hendrie highlighted the club’s rich history and the positive work done by manager Danny Rohl, suggesting that a change in ownership could propel Sheffield Wednesday to the next level. Despite Chansiri’s desire for a high price, Hendrie feels that the right owner with the proper drive could unlock the club’s true potential and help secure a brighter future.
With only five matches left and a manager set to depart, Rangers face a difficult end to the season. Motivation has been a struggle for the squad, and while pride is on the line, stringing together victories may only highlight the painful gap to Celtic, who remain comfortably ahead.
First up is a challenging trip to St Mirren, who have already beaten Rangers twice this season. Despite little left to play for in terms of European qualification, Stephen Robinson’s side is never an easy opponent, and a bruising encounter is expected.
Changes to the starting XI are anticipated. Jack Butland should return to goal to rebuild his confidence, while the 3-5-2 formation might be scrapped due to limited options in the full-back positions. In midfield, Bailey Rice deserves a run of games, alongside Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande. Up front, Vaclav Cerny should retain his spot, with Oscar Cortes given a chance to rediscover his form on the left. The decision between Hamza Igamane and Danilo for the central striker role is crucial, with Igamane showing promise as the season’s standout forward.
