Ex-Rangers Boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst Breaks Silence on Leeds Job Rumors – What’s Next?

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has addressed the recent rumors linking him to the Leeds United managerial position, but he was quick to clarify that there has been no direct contact from the club. The former Rangers manager, who has been out of work since being dismissed as Besiktas boss earlier this season following a tough stint in Turkish football, responded to the speculation surrounding his potential move to Elland Road. Despite his name being floated as a possible candidate, van Bronckhorst made it clear that no discussions have taken place.

The rumors intensified after Rangers’ potential new owners, 49ers Enterprises, reportedly raised concerns about the capabilities of current manager Daniel Farke to manage in the Premier League, especially after Farke’s relegation with Norwich City. During a Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Inter Milan, where van Bronckhorst was working as a Dutch TV pundit, he was asked directly about the possibility of taking over at Leeds. In response, van Bronckhorst confirmed that he had seen the reports but reiterated that there was no ongoing communication with the club. He did express his admiration for Leeds, stating, “Are Leeds a nice club? Definitely,” while adding that he is enjoying his life at the moment but would like to return to coaching one day.

In support of van Bronckhorst’s potential move, his former Rangers teammate, Ronald de Boer, who was also working as a pundit on Dutch TV, expressed his belief that Leeds could be an ideal destination for the ex-Ibrox boss. De Boer described Leeds as a “sleeping giant” with the potential to become a major force in English football, further fueling the speculation about van Bronckhorst’s future.
