Three surprise additions spark intrigue in Hawks’ extended squad.

Richmond has locked in its extended lineup for the Round 8 showdown with Hawthorn at the MCG.

Richmond has unveiled its extended squad for Sunday’s highly anticipated clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.

The Tigers have named three key inclusions—Noah Balta, Jacob Bauer, and Tyler Sonsie—who have earned their spots with strong performances at VFL level.

Bauer has turned heads after kicking four goals against Frankston in Round 4, while Sonsie was dominant with 35 disposals, five marks, and three tackles in the same match. Their recent form has added depth and excitement to Richmond’s selection.

Balta is set to return to the backline, joining a solid defensive unit featuring Ben Miller, Nick Vlastuin, Jayden Short, Nathan Broad, and Luke Trainor.

Up forward, the Tigers will rely on a mix of youth and experience with Jonty Faull, Tom Lynch, Rhyan Mansell, Steely Green, Seth Campbell, and Jack Ross lining up.

The extended bench includes Maurice Rioli, Tom Brown, Campbell Gray, Kamdyn McIntosh, Sam Lalor, James Trezise, along with Bauer and Sonsie.

Richmond will face Hawthorn at 3:20pm (AEST) on Sunday. The final team announcement drops Friday at 5pm on richmondfc.com.au.
