Fluminense are stepping up their pursuit of Fulham striker Carlos Vinícius as they prepare for the Club World Cup this June. According to Bolavip, club president Mário Bittencourt is driving efforts to bring the Brazilian forward back home.
The club is targeting three to four new signings ahead of the tournament, with their biggest need being in the striker position. Vinícius tops their shortlist, and they hope to move quickly to secure his signature.
The forward’s contract at Fulham is nearing its end, but Marco Silva’s side hold an option to extend it by one year. It’s unclear whether they’ll trigger that clause, which could complicate any potential deal.
Fluminense face competition from both Brazilian and European clubs, making speed a priority. Vinícius is reportedly open to a return to Brazil, and Fluminense are considering offering him a three-year contract. However, they’ve yet to determine a wage package.
The club plans to present their formal offer once the special June transfer window opens for Club World Cup participants. Whether Fulham will need to be compensated depends entirely on whether they activate the contract extension — a move that could throw a wrench into Fluminense’s plans.
