‘Absolute stinker’ — Craig Moore reveals the three Rangers transfer disasters that could haunt the club if repeated

There’s a strong sense that Rangers are poised to accelerate forward, but something is holding them back—like having the foot on the gas while the handbrake remains engaged. The key to unlocking this momentum lies in two major developments: the completion of the takeover by 49ers Enterprises alongside Andrew Cavenagh, and the appointment of a new manager. Davide Ancelotti is currently the frontrunner for the managerial role, which would represent a significant achievement given his reputation and the stature of clubs he has been associated with.

However, until these changes take place, everything feels stuck in limbo. Preparations for the upcoming season and efforts to bring in new players seem to be on pause. Although several names have been linked with Rangers, former captain and Hall of Famer Craig Moore remains uneasy about the club’s direction.

On the Go Radio Football Show on May 13th, Moore expressed his desire for clarity. He posed important questions about the club’s future: “What is happening with our club? Where are we? Barry Ferguson is highlighting every week that decisions must be made. Everyone is asking—who is staying? Who is leaving? Where will we be training in pre-season? We’re about to launch a £40 million Champions League campaign in a matter of months. Most importantly, who will be trusted to spend the club’s money?”

Moore also raised concerns about the financial uncertainty if the takeover falls through and questioned who would manage the club’s finances. “If there is money available, who will spend it? Because what we don’t want is a repeat of costly mistakes with signings like Jefte or Propper.” He also called out Bajrami, bluntly labeling that signing as “stinking,” highlighting the frustration over past transfer errors.
