Everton eye £34m swoop for striker dubbed the next Lukaku — move could beat Tottenham to the punch.

Everton are making a new striker their top priority this summer as they prepare for a fresh start under David Moyes and new CEO Angus Kinnear. With the Friedkin family reshaping the club’s structure, the focus is firmly on strengthening the attack after a rocky season up front.

According to reports, Everton are lining up a £34m (€40m) bid for Ajax forward Brian Brobbey. The 23-year-old Dutch striker, previously linked with the Toffees in January, is once again on their radar as they look to inject power and presence into their frontline.

Brobbey isn’t short of admirers — Tottenham and West Ham are also monitoring the situation — but Everton are said to be showing the strongest interest. Their move comes as Turkish giants Besiktas express interest in Everton’s current lead striker Beto, hinting at possible big changes up top.

Often compared to Romelu Lukaku for his physical style of play, Brobbey could be the kind of dominant presence Everton have lacked since the Belgian’s departure. In the 2024/25 season, Brobbey recorded 7 goals and 6 assists across 43 appearances, showing both promise and room for growth.

While the club also reportedly prioritises a potential return for Richarlison, the pursuit of Brobbey might be the bold forward step fans are hoping for as Everton prepare to move into their new era at Bramley-Moore Dock.
