Crystal Palace open to lower Eze offer as Man City circle
Crystal Palace may accept a bid below Eberechi Eze’s £68million release clause this summer, sources have told Football Insider. The clause, which becomes active later in the summer, is no longer seen as a strict benchmark, especially with top clubs circling.
Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham are all showing strong interest in the 26-year-old, with Palace reportedly surprised by the lack of serious offers last year. Now, they’re unlikely to block a move if Eze decides he wants out.
The club could accept a lower fee if the payment terms are favourable. With manager Oliver Glasner looking to reshape his squad, the funds from an Eze sale could be crucial. Eze remains under contract until June 2027, while fellow star Marc Guehi’s deal runs until 2026, making both potential high-value departures.
This season, Eze has racked up 12 goals and 11 assists in 40 appearances, finding exceptional form recently with five goals in his last four games. He also featured prominently for England in the 2024 Euros.
Meanwhile, Palace are set to lose rising star Jesse Derry. The 17-year-old winger has rejected a pro deal and is now free to speak to clubs, with PSG, RB Leipzig, and Atletico Madrid leading the chase. Palace face only minimal compensation due to his age — another significant blow as they look to the future.
