Wrexham striker Sam Dalby has sparked plenty of discussion this year, with his future at the Racecourse still uncertain.

Sam Dalby has made a big impact in Scotland this season. On loan at Dundee United for 2024/25, the powerful striker scored 15 goals, helping the club secure a place in next season’s Europa League qualifiers. His impressive performances earned him the club’s Player of the Season award.

However, when Wrexham’s retained list was released, it revealed Dalby had turned down a contract extension, making him a free agent. At 25, Dalby faces an important summer, with a permanent move possibly on the horizon. Dundee United, now offering European football, seem keen to keep him.

Recently, reports suggested Dundee United would offer Dalby a permanent deal, and the striker hinted he was open to staying. But in a surprising social media post, Dalby appeared to say goodbye to the club. He thanked the fans, players, and staff for an unforgettable season and expressed pride in helping the club reach European competition.

Looking ahead, Dalby’s strong season could lead to a move to a top League One side or even the Championship. Blackpool have been linked with him, though a late agreement with Dundee United can’t be ruled out. Meanwhile, Wrexham, losing Dalby, are targeting new striking options, including Danny Ings, as they prepare for the upcoming season.
