Stoke City’s young England midfielder Sol Sidibe has long attracted interest from top European clubs.
Stoke City are reportedly receiving transfer interest in young England midfielder Sol Sidibe.
The 18-year-old, long viewed as a top talent, had previously drawn attention from clubs like Manchester City as he rose through Stoke’s ranks. His father, Mama Sidibe, is a fan-favourite and former promotion-winner at the club. According to Sky Sports, several clubs have inquired about Sol’s availability this summer.
Sidibe is currently away on international duty with England Under-18s and is expected to return for his third pre-season with Stoke’s senior team. He made history last season by becoming Stoke’s second-youngest league debutant at just 16 years and 176 days. However, then-manager Alex Neil held back his progression during a tough campaign near the bottom of the table.
The young midfielder had to reprove himself to a series of managers—Steven Schumacher, Narcis Pelach, and Mark Robins—after missing the second half of the 2024/25 season due to a stress fracture in his lower back. He returned to action late in the season and joined England duty alongside teammate Jaden Dixon.
Sky Sports reports that Premier League clubs, as well as sides from France, Austria, and Germany, have approached Stoke regarding Sidibe. The club had rejected two bids for the French-born player last summer.
Sidibe and Dixon came off the bench in England U18s’ 2-1 loss to Morocco on Wednesday, after both started and won 3-1 in a previous match against the same opponent on Sunday.
