Ryan Mmaee is aiming to secure a summer exit from Stoke City.
Interest is growing in Ryan Mmaee as he moves closer to leaving Stoke City.
Mmaee was once seen as a marquee signing during Ricky Martin and Alex Neil’s recruitment drive, but he struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting XI. Concerns over his form, fitness, and attitude soon pushed him out of favour.
After a stint training with the under-21s, Mmaee was briefly recalled to the senior squad by Steven Schumacher, who challenged him to prove his commitment. However, this second chance was short-lived. He was loaned to Rapid Vienna last summer, with hopes he’d earn a permanent move.
Unfortunately, Mmaee suffered an injury in his first training session with Rapid and faced setbacks in his recovery. By January, the Austrian club was already looking to cut the loan short. Although he returned to Stoke, he didn’t feature in matches but gave new manager Mark Robins a chance to assess him—ultimately leading to approval for his departure.
According to *TeamTalk*, Standard Liege, where Mmaee began his professional career, are interested in a reunion. He has also been linked to Real Salt Lake in MLS and Slovak champions Slovan Bratislava. However, it’s unclear what Stoke can expect financially from any deal or if they’ll need to make concessions to offload his wages.
Meanwhile, Niall Ennis and Andre Vidigal—both 26 and entering the final year of their contracts—are also likely to leave, although Vidigal has previously declined offers to exit.
