Stoke City manager Mark Robins is expected to push for a major summer transfer window, aiming to lift the Potters up the Championship table next season. Finishing 18th in 2024/25—just two points above the drop zone—was a disappointing outcome that left little room for satisfaction at the Bet365 Stadium.
As Robins tries to rebuild and motivate his squad, he needs complete commitment from every player. That’s why he has every reason to be frustrated by Bae Junho’s recent comments about a possible exit.
Junho, who joined from Daejeon Hana Citizen in August 2023, had a promising start, earning Player of the Season honors. However, his second campaign lacked consistency, with just three goals and five assists in 45 appearances. Despite this, the 21-year-old has now openly admitted his agents are in talks with other clubs and that he’s considering his future.
His remarks could be seen as disrespectful to the club and damaging to team morale. Robins might worry that such openness from a key player could create uncertainty within the squad, especially if others begin to question their roles at Stoke.
While Robins’ frustration is understandable, there’s also an opportunity here. With two years left on Junho’s contract and his young age, Stoke could command a solid transfer fee if interest materializes. Turning this into a smart business move could benefit the club in the long run, despite the disappointing circumstances.
