Premier League club eyes Stoke City midfielder as transfer window opens.

Stoke City transfer update: Young midfielder Sol Sidibe linked with a potential Premier League move this summer.

Stoke City’s young midfielder and England youth international Sol Sidibe has emerged as a summer transfer target for Premier League side Aston Villa. As Stoke prepares for a busy window, they are also nearing their first signing under manager Mark Robins.

According to *The Telegraph*, multiple clubs are monitoring Sidibe, but Aston Villa rate him highly and believe he has significant potential. The 18-year-old, son of former striker Mamady Sidibe, was born in France and began representing England at U17 level in 2023. He has since captained the U18s and gained valuable first-team experience at Stoke.

Since making his senior debut in August 2023, Sidibe has featured in 21 matches. He made 13 appearances last season under Steven Schumacher and interim boss Narcis Pelach, but did not feature again after Robins took over in January.

Pelach previously praised Sidibe’s intelligence and leadership, calling his England captaincy “a great reward” and noting his rare ability to understand and express tactical ideas for someone his age.

Sidibe signed a three-year deal last summer, leaving two years remaining on his contract. However, that hasn’t deterred Villa’s interest.

Meanwhile, Stoke are on the verge of making their first summer addition as Robins begins shaping the squad he inherited, having only added Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Ali Al-Hamadi on loan during the winter window.
