Jalen Ramsey is likely to be traded by the Dolphins before training camp, with the Rams and Chargers among his top landing spots.
Jalen Ramsey, the standout cornerback for the Miami Dolphins, could be on the move again—and the deal may happen sooner rather than later. ESPN’s Adam Schefter recently shared on *The Pat McAfee Show* that the Dolphins are expected to trade Ramsey “before the start of training camp” and are already in talks with several teams.
Ramsey reportedly prefers a return to the West Coast, with the Rams or Chargers as his ideal destinations. He previously played four strong seasons with the Rams, where he earned multiple Pro Bowl selections and an All-Pro nod before being traded to Miami in 2023.
Though nothing is finalized, Miami has been exploring trade options for months, including prior to the NFL Draft. The Rams, Chargers, Steelers, and Commanders are all reportedly in the mix. Schefter was clear: “Jalen Ramsey will get traded.”
One challenge could be Ramsey’s contract. He’s set to earn \$24.235 million in 2025, a figure that may deter some suitors. However, if the Dolphins trade him after June 1, they could free up nearly \$10 million in cap space—an appealing incentive as they rework their roster ahead of training camp.
Even at 30, Ramsey remains one of the league’s top defensive backs, with six Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl ring. He’s also been training this offseason in California with ex-Rams safety Eric Weddle, fueling speculation of a reunion in Los Angeles. Whether it’s the Rams, Chargers, or another contender, Ramsey’s next chapter could unfold very soon.
