Villarreal striker Thierno Barry is set to join Everton after both clubs agreed on a summer transfer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old French forward will move for an initial fee of €35 million, choosing the Toffees over other interested Premier League clubs — a major win for manager David Moyes.

Barry arrives as a direct replacement for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who recently departed. He scored 19 goals and provided four assists last season, including eight goals in just four appearances for Basel before moving to Villarreal, where he finished with 11 goals in 37 games.

A France youth international, Barry’s playing style suits the Premier League, and he could thrive under Moyes’ guidance. Despite Villarreal originally holding out for his €40 million release clause, Everton negotiated a lower deal.

With ten players exiting Everton last season, Moyes will need more smart signings like Barry to push for a top-half finish in the upcoming campaign.
