West Ham Lead Premier League Race for German Talent Weiper
West Ham are among several Premier League clubs tracking Mainz striker Nelson Weiper following his impressive displays at the U21 European Championship. The 20-year-old scored four goals during the tournament, including a crucial header in Germany’s narrow final defeat to England.
Tottenham and Brentford have also been monitoring Weiper, with Mainz valuing the young forward at around £12 million. Despite suffering a serious knee injury at 18, he has since regained full fitness and is considered one of Germany’s most promising prospects.
Though comparisons have been drawn to West Ham’s Niclas Füllkrug due to his physicality, Weiper offers greater mobility—making him an intriguing target for Premier League sides this summer.
