Nottingham Forest are reportedly showing interest in Benfica forward Kerem Akturkoglu, according to claims from Turkish media.
The 26-year-old impressed in his first season with the Portuguese side, catching the eye of several European clubs. Turkish journalist Emre Kaplan told Haber Sarikirmizi that while Akturkoglu has no interest in returning to the Turkish Super Lig — unless it’s to rejoin Galatasaray — he is open to a move abroad.
Kaplan revealed that Nottingham Forest are the first Premier League club to make contact with Benfica regarding a potential transfer. However, the Portuguese club have set a €45 million asking price, which is considered high. Despite that, talks are ongoing.
With Anthony Elanga close to joining Newcastle United, Forest may be seeking a replacement winger. Akturkoglu, who scored 16 goals in 53 appearances last season, is under contract at Benfica until June 2029. Still, his high price tag may lead Forest to explore more affordable alternatives.
