Josh Windass looks set to leave Sheffield Wednesday this summer, as financial instability continues to cast a shadow over Hillsborough. The 31-year-old forward, who finished last season as the club’s top scorer with 13 league goals, has reportedly informed the club of his intention to move on. Wrexham’s search for a new central defender has hit a setback, with Maksym Talovierov now seemingly edging closer to a move to Stoke City. The Ukrainian centre-back, who impressed during a short stint at Plymouth Argyle, had been on Wrexham’s radar following Argyle’s relegation. However, despite the Red Dragons’ interest, Talovierov has confirmed he is considering an offer from Stoke, leaving Phil Parkinson’s side at risk of missing out on another key target this summer.
Birmingham City are on the cusp of completing one of the standout transfers of the summer, with Demarai Gray set for a romantic return to St Andrew’s. The winger has passed a medical, and all that remains is formal approval from the Saudi Pro League before the move from Al-Ettifaq can be finalised. Negotiated smartly by the Blues, the deal will see Gray arrive on a free transfer with a 20% sell-on clause, despite his former club’s initial £8 million valuation. An announcement could come as early as today, marking a significant moment in Birmingham’s summer rebuild.
