The New York Giants made major upgrades to their secondary in free agency by signing CB Paulson Adebo and S Jevon Holland. Still, they added more depth during the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Oklahoma State cornerback Korie Black in the seventh round.
Black brings elite speed and promising tools to the Giants. At 6-foot, 192 pounds, he was a three-year starter and had his best season in 2024 with three interceptions and nine pass defenses. NFL.com projected him as a fifth-round pick, making his seventh-round selection strong value. Black ran a 4.35-second 40-yard dash at his pro day, showing off his top-tier athleticism.
Given the Giants’ recent struggles with secondary depth due to injuries, adding Black is a strategic move. With 62 college games and 38 starts under his belt, Black not only strengthens the secondary but could also contribute immediately on special teams, where he previously excelled as a gunner.
