Marco Silva has thrived since parting ways with Everton in December 2019.
Marco Silva has carved out a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top managers since taking over at Fulham. The Portuguese head coach led the Cottagers from the Championship to the top half of the Premier League table, transforming them into genuine contenders for European football. With three matches remaining, Fulham sit just two points shy of their all-time Premier League points record — a mark of 53 set by Roy Hodgson in the 2008/09 season.
Silva’s Fulham side is currently 11th in the table, with a realistic shot at finishing eighth and potentially securing a UEFA Conference League spot. Despite the impressive progress, speculation about Silva’s future had been mounting. He was previously linked with roles at Chelsea and even a return to Everton, with some Toffees fans calling for his comeback.
However, in a surprising twist, Silva has reportedly agreed to take over at Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal — a move few expected. While Tottenham Hotspur were also considering him as a possible replacement for Ange Postecoglou, Silva has now given the green light to Al-Hilal, who are set to appoint him if their primary target falls through.
With just three games left — against Everton, Brentford, and Manchester City — Silva has the opportunity to end his Fulham tenure on a high note and potentially leave behind a new club record.
