Celtics’ Hidden Agenda? Derrick White’s Trade Price Tag Raises Eyebrows

The Boston Celtics have already made some offseason roster adjustments, but more moves could be on the table—if a team is ready to meet a hefty asking price for Derrick White. Jake Fischer of The Stein Line reports that the Celtics have received trade inquiries about the veteran guard.

However, Boston has made it clear that it would only entertain offers resembling the blockbuster deal that sent Mikal Bridges to the Knicks.

“Regarding the Knicks: Sources indicate the Celtics told at least one team it would take a ‘Mikal Bridges-type’ deal to trade Derrick White,” Fischer shared, as cited by Clutch Points.

That Bridges deal saw the Brooklyn Nets receive five first-round picks, a pick swap, and other assets from New York. Fischer also noted that while Boston has drawn significant trade interest in both White and Jaylen Brown recently, no negotiations have reached an advanced stage.

White had a strong season, appearing in 76 games and averaging 16.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, while hitting 38.4% from three-point range.
