Crystal Palace have made an offer to sign Oumar Diakite from Stade de Reims as they aim to strengthen their attack this summer.
Crystal Palace are pushing to sign 21-year-old Oumar Diakite from Stade de Reims after being impressed by his performances last season, according to Africa Foot. The Premier League side has submitted a £9 million offer for the forward, who is looking to leave following Reims’ relegation to Ligue 2.
The chance to play in the Premier League is said to appeal to Diakite, and Palace have reportedly tabled a five-year contract. While Reims are reluctant to sell, the player’s desire to join the Eagles strengthens Palace’s position in negotiations.
Crystal Palace are in need of added depth in attack, and Diakite could be a valuable long-term signing. He would provide competition for Eddie Nketiah and Jean-Philippe Mateta and has room to grow into a key player.
Having just won the FA Cup, Palace are building an exciting project—one that clearly interests Diakite. The club will now aim to finalise the deal swiftly.
