West Ham haven’t signed any first-team players yet and are heading into a challenging summer rebuild.
Graham Potter is facing a tough task at West Ham, working with limited resources after a number of experienced players left the club. Past spending has left little room in the budget, and as rival teams strengthen, West Ham risk falling behind.
Now, things have worsened with news that winger Crysencio Summerville will miss the entire pre-season and the start of the 2025/26 campaign due to injury. The Dutchman, who joined from Leeds in a high-profile move, had a disappointing first season with just one goal in 22 games and now faces another setback.
The Telegraph reports that West Ham plan to sign a left-sided attacker, a goalkeeper, striker, central midfielder, and left-back this summer. However, tight finances mean they’ll likely need to sell players before making significant moves.
Summerville’s absence is a blow, as he needed a strong pre-season to regain form. Without match fitness, he could struggle to make an impact once fit, and further injuries are a concern. That’s why West Ham are prioritizing alternatives on the left wing—Potter knows he can’t rely on Summerville early on and needs depth in the squad.
