Broncos trade proposal could help Jets secure franchise quarterback.

The Denver Broncos are in a favorable position with the 20th overall pick in the draft, allowing them flexibility to either stay put or move down. If there’s a player at No. 20 who can help their team, they should go ahead and select him. However, if a quarterback-needy team like the New York Jets wants to trade up and one of the top quarterbacks falls, the Broncos should take advantage of the opportunity.

Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News suggested a trade scenario in which the Jets move up to draft Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss, giving up a future first-round pick and additional selections. This deal would allow the Jets to secure their franchise quarterback, while the Broncos, who are not desperate, would benefit from added draft capital. With Broncos GM George Paton’s former assistant, Darren Mougey, now working for the Jets, the trade could make sense for both sides.

Dart’s rising draft stock makes this an intriguing possibility for the Broncos. If the Jets are willing to part with future picks, especially in the 2025 draft, the Broncos could gain more assets to bring in young talent, aligning with their future plans. While the Broncos may also consider moving up if Tyler Warren falls to around No. 15, if he’s off the board and no other prospects stand out, trading with the Jets could be a solid option.
