Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, and may look to make a move for him this summer, according to The Sun.
Rashford joined Villa in the January transfer window after struggling for game time at Old Trafford, where he was excluded from Ruben Amorim’s squad for several months. Since moving to the Midlands, the 27-year-old has enjoyed a strong start, contributing three goals and four assists in 13 appearances. Villa has an option to buy him permanently for £40 million, but if they choose not to trigger the clause, Crystal Palace could swoop in.
Palace are reportedly keeping a close eye on Rashford’s situation and may make a move if his loan spell with Villa doesn’t become permanent. Rashford’s revival at Villa has earned praise, particularly from Alan Shearer, who noted how different the forward looks compared to his time at Manchester United.
Currently, Rashford is set to return to United, but Villa could still make the deal permanent if the finances align. If not, Crystal Palace might see it as an opportunity to strengthen their squad with a player of Rashford’s calibre.
Any potential transfer will depend on Palace’s ability to retain key players like Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton, both of whom are attracting interest ahead of next summer. Additionally, Palace would need to manage the financial challenge posed by Rashford’s £300,000-per-week salary.
