David Moyes eyes third West Ham player for Everton move — fans anticipate what’s coming.

David Moyes is stepping up his plans at Everton by pursuing a third West Ham player — and fans already know how this usually plays out.

It seems David Moyes’ name will continue to echo around West Ham this summer — even a year after his departure. And it’s not just because of the impressive job he’s doing at Everton since his return in January.

From the moment Moyes rejoined the Toffees, many expected him to come calling for familiar faces. West Ham duo Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal, two of his most trusted signings during his time in London, have been high on the list. Moyes even mentioned both players when dedicating his OBE to those who supported him at West Ham.

Soucek is reportedly set to leave this summer as West Ham aim to generate funds for Graham Potter’s rebuild. With Everton offering him a £120k-per-week deal, his omission from the recent Liverpool game suggests he’s not in Potter’s long-term plans. Meanwhile, Coufal — who was blocked from moving to Fulham in January — is also expected to depart, and Everton appears a likely destination.

But Moyes isn’t stopping there. He now has his sights on a third West Ham player — striker Evan Ferguson. Ironically, West Ham had beaten Everton to Ferguson’s loan signing in January. However, Ferguson’s time in East London has been underwhelming. He’s failed to make an impact, missed key chances, and hasn’t played since early April.

With no option to make the loan permanent, West Ham seem ready to move on, leaving Everton free to swoop. And fans fear the inevitable: Ferguson will thrive under Moyes, banging in goals and helping Everton chase European football — the classic West Ham twist.

Now with financial backing at Everton and West Ham restricted by PSR rules, Moyes looks set to build his new team using familiar faces — and Hammers fans have seen this script before.
