On Thursday, Corriere dello Sport reported that Leeds United were close to beating Fulham and West Ham in the race to sign Inter Milan striker Mehdi Taremi. The belief was that Leeds might not have to pay a large fee for the 33-year-old, who is expected to leave the San Siro this summer.
Now, Fulham are making moves to overtake Leeds in the chase. The Italian outlet describes the situation as an “English derby” for the Iranian forward, whose departure would give Inter some financial breathing space.
Fulham are preparing an offer, aiming to outpace Leeds, with Taremi reportedly unwilling to move outside Europe. While Leeds’ bid remains undisclosed, previous reports suggest around €10m could be enough to secure his signature.
Taremi struggled to make an impact at Inter in the 2024/25 season, but his record at Porto — 91 goals and 56 assists in 182 appearances — highlights his proven scoring ability.
