Sunderland’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread after a six-game winless run, and pressure is mounting on manager Regis Le Bris. With fans growing increasingly restless, calls are intensifying for the club to sack Le Bris and appoint former Everton boss Sean Dyche. Despite his rocky exit from Goodison Park, Dyche is seen by many as the experienced, no-nonsense leader who could steady Sunderland’s ship at the most crucial time of their season. As Coventry City awaits in the playoffs, the push for a last-minute managerial shake-up is gaining momentum.
Leeds United are set to compete with Everton for the signing of Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff, who is valued at £10m. Longstaff, 27, has made over 200 appearances for the Magpies but has struggled for regular first-team action this season due to competition from Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes, and Joelinton. With just over a year left on his contract, Longstaff could be looking for a move, and Leeds are reportedly interested in securing his services. Former United midfielder David Prutton believes Longstaff would be a solid addition to Leeds, praising his experience and work ethic.
Meanwhile, Leeds are also said to be tracking former Tottenham defender Eric Dier, who is set to leave Bayern Munich after just one season. Despite interest from several Premier League clubs, Dier is reportedly close to joining Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. As Leeds prepare for a busy summer transfer window, they are focused on strengthening their squad following their promotion to the Premier League.

Everton manager David Moyes has reportedly sent former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam to scout Sunderland’s rising star, Chris Rigg. However, despite their long-standing interest, Everton is unwilling to meet Sunderland’s hefty £40 million valuation for the 17-year-old midfielder. West Ham is also monitoring Rigg but is only prepared to offer around £10 million.
Meanwhile, Sunderland head coach Régis Le Bris has dismissed reports of a formal £38 million bid from Tottenham, emphasizing that Rigg remains fully committed to the club. The young midfielder himself recently reiterated his passion for Sunderland, stating that wearing the club’s shirt and giving his all on the pitch is incredibly special to him.
