Agustín Escobar, a Siemens executive from Spain, was on a family sightseeing trip in New York City when their helicopter tragically crashed into the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon. The crash, which occurred near Jersey City, N.J., resulted in the deaths of Escobar, his wife, three children, and the pilot. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise before seeing the helicopter plummet from the sky. Video footage captured the aircraft spiraling uncontrollably and crashing into the water at high speed, sending debris flying.

The helicopter, a Bell 206 operated by New York Helicopter, had taken off from Downtown Manhattan Heliport and was circling the city before the fatal plunge. Despite efforts to rescue the passengers, none survived. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with authorities working to recover the wreckage and determine what went wrong.
